Banana Punch by Cartel Seeds is a feminized photoperiod hybrid with a distinct fruity character. The strain is based on a cross between Banana OG and Purple Punch, and it is this pairing that determines everything from the aroma to the plant's behavior during flowering.
Genetics and what it gives
Banana OG brings a dense, resinous structure and that same instantly recognizable banana aroma. Purple Punch adds berry sweetness, creamy depth and a compact bush shape. Together they create a hybrid where the tropical fruitiness doesn’t interrupt, but complements each other.
The variety is photoperiodic, meaning that the transition to flowering occurs with changing daylight hours. This gives the grower more control over the vegetative phase and the final size of the plant.
Aroma and flavor profile
Banana Punch has a multi-layered aroma with banana and tropical fruit in the foreground, berries and a creamy note in the background. The profile remains consistent from mid-flower to harvest and holds up well after drying.
If you are looking for a strain with a distinct fruity character without harsh or earthy undertones - Banana Punch falls into this category.

How Banana Punch differs from similar titles
There are several varieties on the market with the word Punch in the name - Grape Punch, Tropical Punch, Purple Punch. Banana Punch from Cartel Seeds is a specific combination of Banana OG and Purple Punch, which gives a banana-like profile, not a grape or citrusy one. If banana aroma is important - focus on this genetics, not just the name.
